Niche Website Markets

Niche Markets are the key to Success on the Internet

What's your Niche?

A niche is a specific and sometimes unusual item, service or product . Most companies that are successful on the Web have a unique niche. A nich may be a hobbie also, such as Horse Lovers... this can be further broken down to.. Care of Horses and even further broken down to Natural or Herbal Remedies for Horses. This is just an example of how a theme or niche or interest can be focused on to create a unique presence on the Internet providing information to those interested in the same niche.

Searching with Google, can a Search Engine be Intuitive?

Searching with Google, can a Search Engine be Intuitive?

Google is certainly cracking down on relevancy when it comes to ranking, no more free rides to get yourself
listed on the home page, in rank position 10 or better.  Which leads us to go back to what we initially discussed years ago regarding relevant content and the user experience.  How much time would you want to take to find what you are looking for.  Besides incorporating smart search into the functionality, intuition needs to be present, imagine, a Search Engine reading your mind based on what you are searching for, how can that be?

Here is an example, enter a search term such as health care and the search engine returns a page with the first list of results starting with alternative health care, and you, I did not type in the word "alternative" yet the search result page served up alternative health care as the first choices to choose from.  This is intuitive search results, no wonder, our big brother Google has been practicing the inspiring teachings of Eckhart Tolle, view the video of Mr Tolle at Google.

It is amazing to see the transformation and shift of our world for the better taking place, though there is still much resistance to alternative solutions.  In any case, expect search engine result pages to include relevant information based on your history and interests, incorporating social media correspondence.  Its a shame to say that if you wanted to keep yourself under the covers a bit and private that this evolving social networking internet has eradicated that  possibility, which actually may be a good thing.  Networking, marketing and exposure is essential if you plan to succeed, so if you plan to search and are not to sure what your searching for, don't worry, the search engine will figure it out for you, remember its all about being intuitive, as Pooh says "you feel it".  Until next time, have a great day!

Organization is Key

Hello again,

I decided to speak about organization today, there are so many websites that have to much content crammed into small unorganized spaces.   Think about yourself when surfing the web, when you look for information what steps do you take to get to the information?  Would you rather go through hoops? Would you rather be directed through a maze before finally reaching the content?  Think about that, visitors who arrive at your site don't end up there by chance normally they are searching for content.  The best way to loose visitors is to send them on a wild goose chase for the content.  Keep that in mind when creating your site.

Until next time

Have a great day!

Get to the point

Hi again,

One of the most common complaints I hear from people who are looking for information on the web is once they find the site that has what they are looking for they have to jump through hoops to get it, another words the site owners make it difficult for visitors to find specific content, remember you have approximately 30 seconds to keep that visitor at your site, don't blow it by displaying irrelevant content.  Your site should initially display the content that is specific to your niche so to speak, sure you can have other content, just be sure to make it easy for your visitors to find what they came to your site for.

Until next time

Have a great night!

Tips on Landing Pages

Hello again,

As for the content of your pages, beginning with the landing page or home page.
The page should lead a visitor to the logical finish – conversion – so placing all important information in the middle of the page in one column is a smart move. Divide the content into small blocks to allow room to read so to speak, to much content will overwelm and turn away potential visitors.

Until next time,

Have a great day!

Robots.txt file, what is it's purpose?

Hello again,

Today I am talking about the robots.txt file and why it is necessary to include in your site files.  The robots.txt file is a directionary file in which it directs or tells search engines what to include in their site crawls and what to exclude.  For instance, you really do not need the search engines to crawl or include the names of your image files in their results, in this case you would use the robots.txt file to specifically exclude the directory from being crawled by the search engines.

Hopefully this helps add a bit more information regarding how the search engines work.

Have a great day!
